How to Choose the right NPHC Fraternity or Sorority
Choosing a fraternity or sorority can be a tough decision, and potentially one of the most important decisions you will make as a young adult. The key to making the right choice is by doing plenty of research, understanding what you are looking for in your potential organization, but most importantly....you must know yourself. The most important part of making the right choice is knowing who you are as a person. Knowing your personality, character, motives, and what direction you're looking to go in life will guide you to the right prospective organization, and if you should choose one at all.
Along with knowing who you are as an individual, you should also base your decision solely on what you want, and not what someone else wants. As outlined in the video below, there are many people who have became part of Black Greek Letter Organizations and pledged for the wrong reasons. If you are not 100% sure and have some doubt about which organization to choose, then wait. Don't feel pressured into making a quick decision, because it is one that will stick with you for the rest of your life.
There are many ways to gain more information, build your overall knowledge, and help you decide if becoming part of a Black Greek Letter Organization is for you. These are some information sources that I've found successful during my journey...

There are many ways to gain more information, build your overall knowledge, and help you decide if becoming part of a Black Greek Letter Organization is for you. These are some information sources that I've found successful during my journey...
- Interact with actual members in the organization you have interest in
- Search content on the largest information source in the world....The Internet (Be careful of sites that do not look reputable)
- Search YouTube for helpful content (AlexHDTV's channel of course)
- Look for Books on Black Greek Letter Organizations (Black Greek 101, Black Greek Letter Organizations in the Twenty-First Century)
- Speak with family and friends who may be Greek, even if they're not a part of the organization you're looking to join
